A Lot of Nailing Going On!

Well, the roofers are here.  13 men showed up at 6:20 this morning to remove our old roof, fix some plywood and put on a new roof!  It is VERY noisy here!  It looked like a caravan of trucks coming up our driveway!  Mr. Creative is at work and wanted to see the progress so he asked if I would put some pictures on my blog!

Within an hour, they had all the patio furniture moved into the yard, HUGE tarps hung around the house, plywood in front of the lower windows, all the old shingles off and the rotten plywood removed.  I was quite impressed!  Here are some snap shots of the four sides of the house.  Our poor dog is freaked out in the garage!

I will show more pictures when they are done!!

Have a great day!

  3. Oh Bonnie, your roof!! And I thought my exterior painting job was a mess. Girl, you need to come over after the job is done, sit on my porch with me and have a glass of wine.

  4. That is a messy job! I hope they are fairly clean about it! I remember in an older house being home while the roofers redid our roof. It's quite noisy and I kept finding old nails in my bushes for months. LOL! After they leave be sure and check out all your pictures on the walls too, they might be crooked. Mine where! Well, I know it is exciting though! Glad you are able to get it done, and it will be all over soon and you will have a pretty new roof. Stay positive! :))

  5. How nice that the company you are using is taking great care to protect your windows and landscaping. Our guys made the biggest mess in my beds out front. I am still picking out nails in the bushes and roof pieces. I know that is very noisy inside. I had had enough and had to leave for a while.

  6. How exciting and wonderful to be getting a new roof Bonnie. It looks good!

Thank you very much for your input on my home changes. I would really love to do it but the idea of all the work seems so tiring. My hubby actually liked all the ideas I had as well. I'm still thinking on it.

    Have a great day!

  8. Wow! We had our roof and our siding redone all in the span of a week at our old house and I thought I was going to lose my mind (had a new baby at the time too!). Go out and get yourself a Starbucks and then get back to show us the pictures when they are done!

  10. Bonnie- I'll bet you will be glad to have that job done. I always hated to spend the money on "roof" stuff and "window" stuff...It was so expensive and I just used to think I could have been refurnishing something instead. lol Will be looking forward to the finished job pictures! hugs- Diana
