Chalk Board Paint Project!

I know so many of you are on the chalk paint bandwagon that I want to try but I am a little slow.  So for now I am using the chalk board paint that everyone else is probably done with by now!

I had this mirror that I got at Target many years ago in the clearance section.  I don't even remember what it cost but knowing me it was less than $15!

It was in my son's rustic room before his makeover that I showed you HERE.  I decided to take the mirror out and make it a chalk board for my kitchen.

As you can see, I painted it heirloom white, sanded the edges, and painted the hardware an oil rubbed bronze.

I really like it here in the kitchen because whenever we are out of something, everyone writes it on the board so I know to buy it on my next trip to the store!

Below it you can see an in process desk transformation!  Maybe that will be my next post.

Again, here is BEFORE...

Here is the AFTER!

I am linking to Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday, Amaze Me Monday at Dittle Dattle and Savvy Southern Style's Wow Us Wednesday.  Make sure to stop by!

Very sweet, Bonnie! I love it white! Love the holders, too, maybe a good place to put mail and coupons to go with that food shopping list!

That is a great piece to change into a chalkboard. I love the little holders on the bottom too, perfect for everything from memos to extra chalk! Looks good in white! Hey, your way ahead of me, I've yet to use the chalkboard paint as well. :)

Bonnie- It is wonderful~ I think there are lots of us still using the chalkboard paint. It is perfect in your kitchen for a message board and to catch all those papers that we seem to accumulate!

I was going to order some Chalk paint last week but ran out of time...so will do it tomorrow I hope! xxoo Diana

Don't feel bad... I haven't even seen a can of chalk paint anywhere! I think it looks fantastic! I love the cubbies in it to store things. So clever!

It was nice before but I love the after!! Great job...I love to see people re-use things in different ways! Oh, and as for the chalk paint...it is wonderful for large things that you would otherwise have to sand down or prime. For smaller things that wouldn't take that long, or for things you could paint right over, it probably wouldn't be worth the expense. Just my opinion! But I do love it!!
